The Location
A downtown retreat that's genuinely easy to get to
Leelawadee's downtown location has been on Howe Street since 2005 — long before the neighbourhood filled in with the towers and restaurants that now surround it. The studio sits in the corridor between Yaletown and Davie Village, walkable from Granville Street and a short stroll from the Canada Line's Yaletown-Roundhouse station. It's a genuinely convenient spot for anyone working or staying downtown, and for Yaletown residents who want proper Thai bodywork without crossing the city.
The guests who visit this location are a specific mix: hotel guests in the surrounding towers who want a proper massage after a long flight or a day of meetings; office workers from the downtown core who have an hour between obligations; Yaletown and West End residents who've been coming for years and consider this their regular place. The space is calm and unhurried — it doesn't have the transactional feel of a hotel spa or the clinical atmosphere of a medical clinic.
Every treatment room is private, and every session is delivered by a therapist trained in traditional Thai bodywork technique. There's no franchise script here — Leelawadee was founded by a WATPO-trained practitioner and has operated independently since the beginning. This is the only dedicated Thai spa that has maintained a continuous presence in this stretch of downtown Vancouver since 2005.

Downtown Vancouver FAQ
Street parking is available on Howe Street directly outside and on surrounding blocks including Helmcken, Seymour, and Drake. Most meters in this area run until 10pm, so evening visits are generally straightforward. The Impark and EasyPark parkades on Seymour Street are a short walk and tend to be affordable for a 60–90 minute stay.
Walk-ins are welcome when we have availability, but we strongly recommend booking ahead — particularly on weekends and weekday evenings when the downtown location fills up quickly. Booking online takes about a minute and guarantees your spot.
The downtown location is open daily from 10am to 8pm, seven days a week including holidays. The last booking for a 60-minute session is at 7pm, and for a 90-minute session at 6:30pm.
Our therapists are not Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) and sessions cannot be claimed through extended health benefits. Leelawadee is a traditional Thai wellness spa — the techniques we use are rooted in WATPO-trained Thai bodywork traditions rather than the Swedish-based clinical model used by RMT practice. If insurance coverage is a priority, we are not the right fit.
For traditional Thai massage, you remain fully clothed throughout the session in loose, comfortable clothing — no oil is used, and there is no disrobing. For oil-based treatments such as deep tissue, hot oil, or aromatherapy massage, you will undress to your comfort level and be fully draped throughout. Robes are provided at the studio.
